HELLO, AND WELCOME
!

~ BEAUTIFUL WILLAMETTE FALLS,
OREGON ~
My
name is Patti LaValley and I live in the
country near the beautiful city of Rainer, Oregon. I'm a self-taught cloth doll
artist, using my skills in drawing and painting to create my character art
pieces. I have been involved in many types of arts and crafts throughout the
years. I discovered cloth doll making about 20 years ago after I inherited some
vintage patterns from my dear friend Grandma Morgan, a 103 year old dollmaker.
My passion for doll making developed through a love of textures and colors
within a piece of fabric. I like the diversity that doll making allows, too. To
me, the ultimate form of expression is accomplished when all my skills can be
incorporated into one art form. When I bring a smile to someone's heart and face
through my dolls I feel I have accomplished everything!
I love meeting other
dollmakers at shows and gatherings, where we have a lot of fun and I have made many new friends.
On my website I offer original, one of a kind cloth and mixed media art dolls, doll patterns
and doll workshops. I also have online classes offered at other doll-related
websites.
Each doll is meticulously designed and hand crafted, using the finest materials.
Many have posable armatures, right down to delicate fingers. I use
accessories
generously: beadwork, antique jewelry, feathers, fur, mohair, suede and many
other fine materials.
You can see my dolls in the doll galleries, listed
in the menu on the right.
There are dolls for sale in the Doll Shop and Stump Doll Shop and
doll patterns for sale in the Pattern Shop. I have a few pieces of gourd art for
sale in the Gourd Shop. There is a page offering dollmaking lessons on CD.
You can find the links to all these and
more in the left-hand column of this page.
Enjoy browsing my website, and please take the time to sign my guestbook and let me know
what you think.
