Meet Me^Ladee, a Renaissance era inspired doll. She was created especially for
the 2011 Hoffman Challenge, and the challenge fabric shows prominently in front
panel of skirt.
Me^Ladee is 24" tall, with articulated hands and full body armature. Her ample
assets were created by applying Paperclay breasts to her stuffed woven cotton
fabric body. Then a "skin" of knit fabric was sewn and stretched over her upper
torso.
She stands on one foot, while other is posed at
an angle. Boots are illusion cobblery.
Me^Ladee's soft features are drawn with water
color pencils and sealed. Her hair is hand dyed Tibetan wool.
Costuming includes a fitted bodice, lace
sleeves with ruching, full skirt sewn
with separate panels of Hoffman fabric. Black lace trim was added for a feminine
touch.
Other elements include a fabric hat which was
soaked with Paverpol medium, and formed directly onto her head. When dry it
provides a permanent form. Hat is accessorized with gathered organza flowers
using pryo techniques, as is the flower at her bosom.
