Best Friends

"Best Friends" is my
Hoffman Challenge 2000 doll.
~ 18" sitting ~
A variety of fabrics were coordinated with the Hoffman fabric.
Hand painted face ~ Needle modeled features ~ Hand appliquéd
skirt and beading ~ Bead jointed at knees and elbows ~ Knitting
basket is braided Hoffman fabric.
The red-head, top left, is the original Best Friends.
She won 4th Place in the Hoffman 2000 Challenge!

The lower right version is named "Foster Mom"

DETAILS

• Boots are painted on, trimmed with vintage lace.

• Elbows and knees are bead jointed, jointed shoulders and hips are invisible jointing

• Detailed pantalets have French seams and rows of color coordinated hand dyed lace

• Wire armature in articulated hands

• Features are painted with water color pencils and gel pens, sealed with matte sealer

• Hair is hand knitted fun fur yarn

• Her skirt is pieced crazy quilt style with hand dyed lace and rim edging with decorative hand stitching

• Hem is hand embroidered with blanket stitch

• She is embellished at neck and wrist with dyed Venetian lace

• Tibetan wool hair is specially dyed to match her costume

• The cat is painted with tabby stripes, and is wired also to bend across shoulders

• Wood rocking chair included

Other details include braided fabric basket with yarn balls and knitting needles. A unique addition to your collection!
